Wren Class of 2020 - 2021

Autumn 1 - 2020

Welcome to all of our new Wren Class children and parents.  The children have settled down beautifully and are enjoying our 'Marvellous Me' topic.   They are working hard on learning the 'sound of the day' and our 'number of the week'.  Have a look at our pictures which show just how busy Wren class have been, getting to know each other.

                                        Getting to know you!

We're busy, busy, busy!

                         We love mark making!

Numbers, numbers all around!

Picture perfect!

We have been working hard on our colour mixing and brush strokes.  We included lots of detail!

Let's get physical!

Wren class never stops!

We've had fun testing how things work and observing the natural world closely!

Autumn 2 - Polar Explorers

Welcome back to Wren Class where the temperature has dropped this term!  We are becoming Polar Explorers.  We've had lots of fun researching Polar animals and comparing life in the Poles with life in Colwall.

After thinking about global warming, the children suggested some great ideas for how we can make small changes to help save our planet!

We've had fun rehearsing our Nativity play. Do you like our costumes?

Look at how hard we are concentrating on learning to sew Christmas decorations!

Our Arctic small world animals have been involved in lots of adventures thanks to the great story telling skills of Wren Class!

We have been experimenting with the best way to break ice. We found a plastic trowel worked best!

The children enjoyed mark making in ice.

We are working hard on our reading and writing skills.

Ablaze with excitement!

Wren Class have had a brilliant day finding out why we celebrate bonfire night.  The children decided to use chalk to make firework pictures plus printing and splatter paint to produce their own bonfire pictures.  They even created a large bonfire sculpture using our loose parts.  Can you guess what material they used to create marshmallow models?

Do you like our bonfire night inspired art work? We used printing, chalk and paint splatter techniques.

Can you spot yourself in our Wren Class starting school gallery?

We had a fabulous school trip. We walked to the allotments and learned all about making apple juice. Have a look!
