The official opening of our new school
On Friday 16th February 2018 we had a very exciting, memorable and emotional day in school! After half a term of getting to know our building, we planned a very special day to celebrate.
In the morning we buried our Time Capsule. It was filled with lots of information about our school and our hopes and dreams for the future. Our School Directors Ben, Emonie, Jack, Lucy and Miriam helped to bury it and we planted a magnolia tree to mark the spot. We also relocated Jakob's Garden to this area. This is in memory of a boy from our school who died in 2004.
The Rt. Rev Richard Frith, Bishop of Hereford, joined us in school in the morning and enjoyed his tour of our new school. After lunch we welcomed almost 300 guests! These included representatives from
The children had prepared poems, songs and entertainment which was very well received! We were extremely proud of them!
Bishop Richard blessed and dedicated our school and we released a giant helium heart to symbolise our ethos of "Loving and Learning".
Afterwards we enjoyed delicious cakes including a fabulous cake made in the shape of our building!
It was an absolutely wonderful occasion and we are very grateful to everyone who helped to make it so memorable.
Many thanks to Malcolm Upwood, our school photographer for the lovely photographs.
On Monday 8th January 2018 we opened our new school building in Mill Lane.
We are very grateful to Herefordshire Council, the Education Funding Agency, Quattro Design, Kier Construction and Hereford Diocese for helping to make our dreams come true.
We are also very grateful to the community of Colwall, the Parish Council and the Village Hall for recognising and supporting our need for a new school.
Many, many people have helped us along the way and we will never forget the love and support that we received during the Autumn Term of 2017. THANK YOU EVERYONE!
Since September 2014, our school has been housed in temporary accommodation. We are very proud of our lovely Portakabin and we continue to work really heard to ensure it is an inspiring and vibrant learning environment.
We are now entering a very exciting phase as we watch our new school taking shape on the new site in Mill Lane, Colwall.
Once building work gets underway, we will be visiting the site regularly and using this as a fantastic learning opportunity for the children.
We look forward to working with the architects (Quattro) and builders (Kiers) to ensure that the community are involved and updated each step of the way.
It is hoped that we will be able to move into our new building at the end of 2017. We are very excited!
