Another first for Colwall in the Herefordshire Primary Schools Swimming Gala!

On Saturday afternoon we took part – for the very first time – in the Herefordshire Primary Schools Swim Gala. It was quite a spectacle to see us competing alongside 13 other primary school swim squads. We were one of the smaller schools taking part and our swimmers did a fantastic job – swimming their best and showcasing some excellent teamwork and good behaviour. The squad included children from year 3-6: Lucas, Luke, Theo, James, Jacob, Rhys, Tim, Rebecca, Emily, Grace, Florence, Romy, Ava, Ella, Madi, Abby, Chloe, Niamh and Holly. We even won some medals!

Rhys (Silver, Y5 25m freestyle)

Tim (Bronze, Y6 50m breaststroke)

Romy (Bronze, Y5 25m backstroke)

Holly (Bronze, Y6 50m freestyle)

Niamh (Bronze, Y6 50m butterfly)

The girls 4x 25m medley relay team of Abby, Holly, Niamh, and Chloe also won a Bronze 3rd place trophy.

Many thanks to the parents who supported the event (our cheering was particularly splendid!) and to Ella who was an excellent timekeeper! It was wonderful to have such a great turnout from staff (Miss Buckle and Mrs Luce) and well done to Mrs Harrison and Edd for their hard work in coordinating the event.

A fantastic afternoon that we will remember for a long time to come. And finally, a big thank you to the Friends who funded our participation in this gala.

Another very proud Headteacher moment! Well done everyone!
