Swallows and Amazons
The next Film Club screening will be Swallows and Amazons which will take place on Wednesday 26th April 2017.
It is the recent adaptation of Arthur Ransome’s timeless novel in which four children (the Swallows) who are on holiday in the Lake District sail on their own to an island and start a war with rival local children (the Amazons). In the meantime, a mysterious man on a houseboat accuses them of a crime they did not commit.
The film has a PG certificate and also comes with a parents’ guidance warning as it contains mild threat and infrequent mild violence. It is a long film with quite a complex storyline so may be unsuitable for younger children. It has a running time of 97 minutes so children should be collected at 5:05pm. The usual registration email will be sent out the week before.
CHILDREN MUST BE SIGNED UP FOR THE FILM IN ORDER TO ATTEND.
PLEASE USE YOUR CHILD’S NAME IN THE REGISTRATION PROCESS.
Popcorn will be on sale for £1 along with drinks and crisps at 50p so please send along some money. To avoid disappointment, if children forget their money, an IOU will be issued (unless otherwise advised).
If your child is not already a member and is interested in joining Film Club, consent forms are available for children in years 2–6 from the school office and the Friends web page at http://www.colwallceprimary.co.uk/film-consent-form/.
Volunteer helpers: help is always gratefully received so anyone who is interested in lending a hand, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We are always in need of popcorn makers, cinema ushers and people to help clear-up after the film.
Film reviews: any children wishing to write reviews for any of the films they have seen can do so by logging on to the Into Film website at www.filmclub.org using the username and password on their membership badge. Alternatively they can download a template from www.colwallceprimary.co.uk/film-review-form/.
